USA AmbassadorDecember 25 - The United States has named its 2011-2012 Paralympic wheelchair rugby squad at the Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, Alabama.

Following a four-day selection camp, the 19-strong group was confirmed, which will be narrowed down to 12 for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

The defending world and Paralympic champions will be hopeful of retaining their crown in London next year.

"One of our goals is that we stop seeing the chair as a way that we get around and start seeing it as a vehicle to play our sport and when you see the athletes slamming into one another you see the athlete," said coach James Grubert.

"These guys are elite athletes they just happen to use the chair to be able to play our sport."
