IESF regional qualifiers will start later in October ©IESF

The International Esports Federation (IESF) has announced dates for its regional qualifiers, which will determine the field for the World Championship in Eilat in Israel.

Scheduled to be held from October 20 to November 22, the regional tournaments will be held online.

Finalists from each region and title will be patched to the finals offline in Eilat.

The IESF Esports World Championship is scheduled to take place from December 6 to 12.

The qualifying tournaments will be streamed live on IESF's official channels, with the time of the matches due to be shared on social media.

"We are happy to announce the regional stages of the 12th Esports World Championship ahead of the final global games in Eilat in Israel," said Ido Brosh, head of the Local Organising Committee.


"We are excitedly looking forward to the next announcement of the final games in Eilat, and wish good luck to all the participants."

The event is the only major esports tournament featuring national teams this year, with approximately 60 nations set to participate.

This year's event hosts are the Israeli Esports Association and Maccabi World Union, which partnered with the IESF and the City of Eilat.

Three of the key games for the 2020 World Championship will be DOTA 2, an online battle arena video game, eFootball PES 2020 and fighting arcade game Tekken.

The regions where qualifiers will be are Europe, South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Middle East North Africa and Central Asia, South America, North America, Central America and Southern Africa.
