Marco Antonio Trovato Villalba was handed the sanction by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee in connection with a series of matches played between 2018 and 2019.

In its decision, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee ruled that Trovato Villalba had breached article 18 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, in connection with the manipulation of football matches and competitions, and article 20, duty to collaborate, after allegedly failing to comply with disciplinary proceedings.

As well as the ban from football, Trovato Villalba has been ordered to pay a fine of CHF100,000 (£84,300/$108,200/€92,700).

The decision was notified to Trovato Villalba today, and he now has ten days to request the grounds of the decision, after which it will be made public.

Trovato Villalba has the option to appeal the decision before the FIFA Appeal Committee.
