gilders australia_basketball_14-12-11December 14 - Basketball Australia has named its team of coaches who will be tasked with leading the team through to the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Jan Stirling, a former head coach of the Australian Opals, will continue to serve in that position as the head of the women's wheelchair basketball programme.

She will be joined by John Triscari, as well as assistants Ben Osborne and David Gould.

Triscari led the Gilders to a gold medal at this year's Asia Oceania Zone Championship and Osborne was also crucial in their success.

Five-time Paralympian Gould also joins the team having been mentored by Stirling during their scholarship programme.

Stirling said: "[Gould] is another full time [wheel] chair coach in the system, we've had some terrific feedback from his state-based camps and clearly he has a wealth of experience to bring to the table.

"We're still optimistic that we are going to have a terrific lead-up to the Paralympics for the coaches and the athletes and now it will be a matter of consolidating our squad."

The Gliders will meet in Canberra from January 18 until 22 and for another five camps before London 2012.
