The International Golf Federation (IGF) has announced plans to host the organisation's biennial meeting virtually on October 20.

This decision has been made due to the coronavirus pandemic and the cancellation of this year's World Amateur Team Championships.

The Championships had been moved to Singapore from Hong Kong, due to the social unrest and rioting in the city.

The women's Espirito Santo Trophy was scheduled to be contested from October 14 to 17 while the Eisenhower Trophy for men was scheduled for October 21 to 24.

The biennial meeting was due to take place alongside the Championships, but will now be held virtually.

National Federation representatives will be asked to participate in a rehearsal on October 16 at 12pm Central European Time.

The meeting is set to be conducted by LUMI, with the company providing technical support.

Among the key agenda items at the biennial meeting will be the confirmation of the host of the 2023 World Amateur Team Championships.

IGF members will be presented with the auditor's report and audited accounts on the financial affairs of the governing body, for the last two financial years.

The meeting will also see the IGF Administrative Committee and the executive director report on the activities of the governing body during the last two preceding financial years.

IGF members are expected to confirm the appointed members of the Administrative Committee at the meeting.
