A Belgian Paralympic Committee (BPC) delegation has been given a tour of the village of Latour by the Baillet Latour Fund.

The non-profit organisation was established by Alfred de Baillet Latour, nephew of former International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Henri de Baillet Latour.

Its mission is "encouraging, enhancing and stimulating human excellence in Belgium".

The eight-person delegation visited the church in Latour, which was renovated in 2017, and a museum opened in 2010 by another former IOC President, Jacques Rogge, which delves into the history of the Baillet family.

Henri de Baillet Latour was the third President of the IOC, holding the role from 1925 until 1942, when he passed away.

A co-founder and President of the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee, he was also pivotal in the organisation of the Antwerp 1920 Olympics.

The athlete who took the first-ever Olympic Oath at those games, Victor Boin, went on to be the founding President of the BPC.

The Baillet Latour Fund supports the Olympic and Paralympic Movements in Belgium.

The delegation's tour included a visit to the grave of Henri de Baillet Latour and a chance to pay their respects.
