The World Para Swimming World Series is set to return next month with Berlin to stage the second and final leg of the 2020 season.
The Berlin World Series was initially scheduled for June but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the World Para Swimming season was put on hold.
The event will now take place from October 15 to 18 at the Schwimm- und Sprunghalle in the Europasportpark (SSE), which is considered as one of the fastest competition pools in the world.
Last year, a total of 43 world records were broken at the SSE, with Britain’s Alice Tai responsible for six of them as she clinched the 2019 World Series women’s title.
Melbourne in Australia hosted the opening World Series leg in 2020 in February before the season was suspended following the COVID-19 outbreak.
Events in Italy, Brazil, Britain, the United States and Singapore were all cancelled but Para-swimmers have been offered the chance to perform in Germany.
It will be the 34th edition of the German International Para Swimming Championships which has been part of the World Series since the inaugural season in 2017.
National teams and athletes interested in taking part have until September 28 to register.
