Set to be broadcast online, the youth festival will bring Olympic and non-Olympic sports together under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee, International Paralympic Committee, Special Olympics, SportAccord and the Global Association of International Sports Federations.

It aims to increase youth participation in sport.

Educational programmes and online discussions will precede a hybrid online and in-person event in Thailand mark the United Nations' World Children's Day between November 20 and 22.

Teqball has now been confirmed as one of sports which will be contested as part of the event.

"Teqball is a sport for all ages, but in the past few years we have increasingly seen that our core audience is young people," FITEQ General Secretary Marius Vizer Jr said.

"The dynamism and fast-paced nature of the sport lends perfectly to athletes in their late teens and twenties, many of whom have learnt about and fallen in love with teqball through watching the sport on our engaging digital channels. 

"We are thrilled to be a part of the UTS Festival and help promote the importance of educating future generations about how sport can break down barriers and be a tool for positive change."

Spreading peace through sport, non-discrimination messages, athlete safeguarding and athletes as role models will all be areas of focus for the festival.
