France recorded their first victory at the Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal as they bounced back from two heavy defeats by defeating Germany in Portugal.

Having been 1-0 down after the first period, France hit back to 3-1 lead at the halfway stage in Nazaré.

Despite Germany mounting some semblance of a comeback, France came out on top by a single goal in a 5-4 win.

France had previously been thumped by hosts and reigning champions Portugal 7-0 before going down 10-2 to Switzerland.

Germany have also struggled having lost their opening match against Ukraine in extra time before going down 4-1 to Portugal.

Switzerland had to work harder than they did in their opening match against France as they beat Ukraine 4-2.

Glenn Hodel put Switzerland ahead but the lead only lasted two minutes as Ukraine's Oleg Zborovskyi equalised.

Dejan Stankovic then put Switzerland back in front after two penalties in two minutes, but they were again pegged back after Zborovskyi converted a spot-kick.

Stankovic put the game beyond doubt as he gave the Swiss a two-goal cushion.

They closed out the match to join Portugal on two wins from two.

Tomorrow's matches will see Switzerland face Germany before Portugal take on Ukraine.
