The 34-year-old steps down having won all major netball titles, including last year's Netball World Cup.

Langman, who captains the Sunshine Coast Lightning in this year's Australian league, claimed it was time for something new.

"When I look back at my time with the Silver Ferns - the friendships and relationships with players and coaches there are so many outstanding memories," said Langman.

"The honour of pulling on the black dress and wearing the Silver Fern was as strong in my 163rd test as it was when I was handed my first cap in 2005.

"It's a privilege that I have absolutely loved."

The mid-courter made her international debut against England in 2005 at the age of 18 and went on a great streak of test appearances.

After an 18-month absence away from the team, partly due to the controversial ruling that banned her from the national team while playing in Australia, she led New Zealand to victory at the World Cup in Liverpool in the United Kingdom.

"I am so grateful to have had a second chance with the Silver Ferns and to captain the team at the Netball World Cup," she added.

"The memories from that campaign and win are epic and it was special to be able to bring the Netball World Cup back to New Zealand."

She follows her former teammate Maria Folau into retirement, who finished her career in December 2019 as the second-highest capped national team player after 150 tests.

"I want to thank Laura for her outstanding service and dedication to netball in New Zealand and congratulate her on what has been a truly remarkable international career," said Netball New Zealand chief executive Jennie Wylie.

"We respect her decision to step down from the Silver Ferns and wish Laura well in her next adventure."

Langman attended four Netball World Cups from 2007 to 2019 and three Commonwealth Games from 2008 to 2014 and leaves with one world title and two Commonwealth Games titles.

In her youth, she also captained the Under-21 team to victory at the 2005 Netball World Cup.
