The FIS and the International Paralympic Committee have collaborated through World Para Snow Sports since 2003.

The organisations say there has been an evolving relationship focused on technical matters to ensure world-class competitions for Para snow sports athletes.

Both the FIS and World Para Snow Sports are now set to partner on the "Bring Children to the Snow" campaign.

The campaign has been claimed to help break down barriers to snow sports.

Bring Children to the Snow was launched by the FIS back in 2007 to promote snow activities as healthy recreational pursuits for children in winter.

The campaign includes both the FIS SnowKidz programme and World Snow Day, with the primary target group being children between the ages of four to 14.

World Para Snow Sports is now set to work with the FIS to ensure World Snow Day and SnowKidz events are accessible to people with disabilities.

The next World Snow Day is scheduled to take place on January 17 in 2021.

"Bring Children to the Snow and the World Snow Day are fantastic initiatives to introduce snow sports to a new generation," said Christian Holtz, World Para Sports managing director.

"We are really happy to join FIS and create more opportunities for children and persons with disabilities."

The FIS is expected to open the full support system of its Bring Children to the Snow campaign to World Para Snow Sports members, partners, stakeholders, event organisers and athletes.

The support features include the FIS international communications platform, on-site materials to help execute events, event ideas guides and financial support in the form of the SnowKidz and World Snow Day Awards.

The cooperation will begin this season and will continue for the foreseeable future, the two organisations say.
