The tournament saw 100 players from 12 nations participate across 12 tables under the mantra "All In This Together".

After six sessions of 50 hands featuring all 12 teams participating, the bottom six were eliminated with the top six reaching the final.

Defending champions Ukraine rose to the top after 100 hands and maintained that position throughout the group stage of the competition.

They qualified for the final along with Singapore, Australia, India, Taiwan and Lithuania, with Germany, Ireland, Belarus, Poland, Korea and Spain all eliminated at this point.

Although six teams initially progressed to the finals, after discussion and reviews by organisers, a decision was made to disqualify Singapore, for using additional information to gain an unfair advantage.

The remaining five teams played 100 hands to decide the final standings, and Ukraine never looked like relinquishing their lead.

They finished top with 1369 points, ahead of Australia in second on 1320, Lithuania in third on 1281.5, India in fourth on 1270 and Taiwan in fifth on 1268.25.

During competition, players were connected by video conferencing platform Webex, while also playing match poker by a phone, tablet or computer.

Each team was provided with their own private meeting room where they could conduct their team meetings and discuss strategy between sessions.

Play from all tables, which took place across the weekend of May 30 and 31, was streamed through Twitch allowing fans to watch the action, albeit with a 30 minute time delay.

Reflecting on the virtual tournament, an IFMP spokesperson said: "It was a fantastic event which brought the match poker community together at a time when very few sports have the ability to continue - the event showed that we truly are all in together!"
