Krasnoyarsk is set to host the Bandy World Cup later this year, the sport's global governing body has announced.

The Federation of International Bandy (FIB) said the Russian city would stage the event for men's club teams from December 17 to 20.

The tournament is traditionally held in Sandviken in Sweden, which has hosted every Men's Bandy World Cup since 2009.

The FIB has decided to switch the location to the 2019 Winter Universiade venue and is set to announce further details in the near future.

The announcement comes after the FIB confirmed the first two scheduled tournaments for the 2020-2021 season.

Both events are for women's clubs teams, the governing body said, and both are planned to take place in Sweden.

Växjö is due to host the Women's World Cup between October 23 and 25, at the Eriksson Arena in the community of Åby.

Also scheduled to take place is the Girls' Under-17 World Cup, which is planned for the Hydro Arena in Vetlanda between October 30 and November 1.
