World Lacrosse has launched a video titled "I’m Still Here", aiming to offer hope and reassurance to players amid the coronavirus crisis.

The governing body says the video was produced after speaking directly to players.

It highlights concerns over the uncertainty and unknowns caused by the pandemic, which has largely seen sporting activity halted worldwide.

Players' perspectives are highlighted and this includes reflections on the teamwork, camaraderie, competition, sound and memories created by playing lacrosse.

The video aims provide reassurance that the sport will return when it is safe to do so.

Lacrosse is among the numerous sporting organisations to have seen planned events impacted by the pandemic.

This includes the Men's Under-19 World Championship in Limerick, which the governing body was forced to move to 2021.

The World Games in Birmingham, which will feature lacrosse, was also moved from 2021 to 2022 as sporting schedules changed due to the postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

World Lacrosse is also among the governing bodies set to conduct an annual General Assembly virtually this year.

The meeting is due to take place on October 18.
