An online meeting with NPCs will be held by World Para Snow Sports ©World Para Snow Sports

World Para Snow Sports is to host its first Online Nations Meeting over the next two weeks, bringing together all 60 National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) which compete in its four disciplines.

The gathering will follow the Sport Forum held in Belgrade in Serbia last year, which for the first time brought representatives from Para-Alpine skiing, Para-biathlon, Para-cross-country and Para-snowboard together.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision was made to host the meeting online.

It will start with sport specific meetings, including presentations of decisions from the working groups and chairpersons of the four sports.

There are currently 25 working groups – eight for Alpine skiing, nine in Nordic skiing and eight in snowboard, made up of 110 members from 25 NPCs.

The first meeting will take place tomorrow for Alpine skiing, followed by Nordic skiing on May 25 and snowboard on May 26.

A combined World Para Snow Sports meeting will take place on May 28 and will be divided into four sessions, with the first a vision impaired research presentation.

It will be followed by an International Paralympic Committee governance review, and then a presentation from the head of snow sports and a presentation from the Organising Committees of the 2021 Lillehammer World Championships and the Beijing 2022 Paralympics.

Each online meeting will not take more than three hours each.
