The meeting was held online due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which had also impacted Polish organisers.

The coronavirus crisis had delayed construction of the jumping hill in Zakopane that will be used for the World Championships.

Organisers told the FIS Coordination Commission that construction has now been able to resume.

Construction is expected to be completed well in time for the World Championships.

"You can feel the enthusiasm of the local organisers and Polish Ski Association to host the upcoming Junior World Ski Championships," said Michal Lamplot, FIS cross country coordinator.

"We were very happy to learn that everything is on schedule with the jumping hills and that it looks very positive that all three disciplines will be able to be staged in Zakopane."

Wisła and Szczyrk was originally expected to host the event, but the decision was taken to move the competition to Zakopane.

It will be the second time Zakopane has hosted the World Championships, having co-hosted with Mals in Italy back in 2008.

Poland will be hosting the event for the third time, with competition having been held in Karpacz in 2001.

The FIS Coordination Group said the meeting outlined key preparations that will take place in the upcoming months to prepare for the Championships.

This included finalisation of the competition programme and the official dates for the event.

The World Championships is due to take place from January 30 to February 7 2021.

A further online meeting is expected next month, with the aim of an on-site inspection in autumn.
