Winter Olympic ice hockey champion Meghan Duggan has become a substitute physical education teacher during the coronavirus pandemic.

The 32-year-old was part of the triumphant American ice hockey team at Pyeongchang 2018, having taken silver medals at Sochi 2014 and Vancouver 2010.

Duggan has also earned seven world titles.

She is a member of the the Professional Women’s Hockey Players’ Association but has recently been on maternity leave after having a baby in February.

With the PE teacher at her former school suffering from the virus, Duggan has decided to step in, as reported by WHDH.

She is currently leading the students in a virtual workout class.

"This is a tough time for everyone," Duggan said.

"Whether yourself or someone you know is battling the virus.

"I think being able to come together as a community and help each other out right now is the most important thing we can do."
