Australia qualified for the women's Olympic football tournament at Tokyo 2020 after finishing the job in the second leg of their play-off with Vietnam.

The Matildas will play at their fourth Olympics and their second in a row after completing a 7-1 aggregate victory.

Ante Milicic's side already had one foot at the Games after cruising to a 5-0 victory in their home leg in Newcastle on March 6.

Sam Kerr and Hayley Raso both struck in the opening 30 minutes of today's 2-1 victory at Cẩm Phả Stadium, which was played behind closed doors because of the coronavirus crisis.

Kerr volleyed home on 15 minutes before turning provider for Raso, who simply finished into an empty net 14 minutes later.

Vietnamese skipper Huynh Nhu replied with a spectacular lob on 55 minutes but her country had far too much work to do.

Australia's win means they will be represented in both men's and women's football at an Olympic Games for the first time since 2004.

Both legs of the second Asian play-off between China and South Korea have been postponed until June because of coronavirus.
