Algeria thrashed Egypt in their opening match of the men's International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Goalball African Championships in Port Said. 

Defending champions Algeria thrashed the hosts 13-3.

They went on to record another resounding victory in their second match of the day, overwhelming Morocco 10-0. 

Algeria were also successful in the women's contest, easing past Morocco 12-2.

Egypt also came up against Morocco, with the match finishing as a 13-13 draw. 

Competition is due to take place until Friday (March 6), with the winner of the men and women's contest booking a place at this year's Paralympic Games in Tokyo. 

Algeria qualified to compete at Rio 2016 in both the men and women's competitions.
