Tricia Robinson has been confirmed as Netball Jamaica President following the national governing body’s Annual General Meeting.

The meeting took place at the Jamaica Olympic Association’s headquarters, with Robinson belatedly taking the top job.

Robinson had initially been due to succeed Paula Daley-Morris in December after her four-year term came to an end.

Her election was delayed twice, with Netball Jamaica having been unable to achieve the quorum required in December.

The second delay was caused by the lack of an audited financial report.

Robinson was unopposed for the presidency, with Netball Jamaica’s constitution only allowing for candidates who had been a board member for two years to be eligible for the role.

Wayne Shaw, Leonie Phinn and Janet Johnson-Haughton would also have been eligible to stand, but opted not to contest the election.

According to the Jamaican Gleaner, Jennifer Headlam has succeeded Robinson as first vice-president.

Phinn has become the second vice-president.

The board is completed by Simone Forbes, Karlene Waugh, Headlam, Keyan Murdock and Denise Wisdom.

Robinson takes over as President amid concerns over the direction of the organisation.

On the court, Jamaica endured a disappointing performance at the Netball World Cup in Liverpool last year.

The team finished in fifth place after failing to progress to the semi-finals for the first time in 24 years.

Jamaica, however, did win bronze at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
