Among the 10 measures drawn up by the ISU is the completion of a questionnaire on arrival, including travel screening, health checks on arrival and periodically throughout events, availability of tests for coronavirus on anyone with a temperature and availability of masks for anyone who requests one or who has cold-like symptoms.

The others are the availability of isolation rooms if necessary, availability of hand sanitizer throughout venues and hotels, availability of gloves if requested, the reinforcement of education regarding frequent hand washing, the reduction of handshaking and close physical contact and the inclusion of an educational sheet in information at events.

"Further, the ISU is in close contact with the Organising Committees who will implement any necessary measures for the public," a statement from the world governing body reads.

"Additionally, the ISU continues to closely monitor any new development of the evolution of the coronavirus and will follow the recommendations provided by the World Health Organization (WHO)."

It continues: "For any information regarding travelling to an ISU event, please check with the relevant authorities.

"New information will be provided should additional measures be taken."

The WHO has now declared coronavirus as a global emergency.

More than a thousand people have died from the virus to date, with over 43,000 people being infected worldwide.

It has been reported today that China has "removed" several senior officials over their handling of the situation.
