Chiara Hölzl extended her lead over Maren Lundby after triumphing at a home International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup event in Hinzenbach.

The Austrian recorded jumps of 86.0 metres and 91.0m to score a winning total of 250.3 points.

Norway's Lundby, the reigning Olympic, world and World Cup champion, could only jump 85.5m and 88.0m to finish second with 240.6 points.

There was more delight for the home crowd when Eva Pinkelnig jumped 86.5m twice to score 237.4 and complete the podium.

Hölzl went into today's competition with a 15-point lead over Lundby, having overtaken her in Oberstdorf in Germany at the start of the month.

She now sits on 930 points, with Lundby on 895 and Pinkelnig on 779.

Their rivalry is set to continue in the Slovenian town of Ljubno from February 21 to 23.
