Chiara Hölzl topped qualifying at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup event in Hinzenbach.

The Austrian is in a battle with Norway's Maren Lundby for the top spot in the World Cup standings. 

Hölzl currently has a 15-point lead over the reigning Olympic, world and World Cup champion and will be looking to increase that gap in front of her home fans.

She has started off well, leading the qualifying round with 121.4 points, having jumped 92.0 metres.

Lundby managed a jump of 89.0m to finish second on 119.5. 

Sara Takanashi of Japan, a four-times World Cup winner, was third on 117.7 after jumping 86.5m. 

Eva Pinkelnig of Austria, who is currently third in the World Cup standings, recorded 111.9 points to come fifth. 

The first final is scheduled for tomorrow, with a second contest due to take place on Sunday (February 9).
