Dridi won the 55kg crown from Tunisia’s Mehdi Jouini, with Mahmound Saad of Egypt taking bronze.

Egypt’s Ahmed Baghdouda was the champion in the 60kg class, with silver going to Algeria’s Fayssal Benfredj and bronze to Yassine Chekly of Morocco.

A second Algerian gold was provided in the 63kg class thanks to Ahmed Merikhi, with Egypt's Yousef Eissa earning silver and South Africa’s Tharollo Lubesi bronze.

Egypt’s Fathi Ismail won the 67kg category ahead of Abdelmalek Merabet of Algeria and third-placed Francois Du Toit of South Africa.

Tunisia took gold in the 72kg and 77kg classes.

Lamjed Maafi won the first category, with silver going to Egypt’s Mahmoud Elsayed and bronze to home wrestler Haithem Issaad.

Maafi’s team-mate Mohamed Landolsi was victorious at 77kg ahead of Egypt’s Mahmoud Ahmed and Abdul Tchoufon of South Africa.

Home wrestler Fadi Rouabah won the 82kg gold with silver going to Mohamed Selim of Egypt.

And Algeria’s Oubaida Assameur added the 87kg title with silver being earned by Egypt’s Mostafa Mohamed and bronze going to Ulrich Manouan of the Cote d’Ivoire.

Egypt’s Ibrahim Elfaraei took the 97kg title, with Algeria’s Abdelmalek Kissoum earning silver.

Tunisia’s Mohamed Blaghji took the top weight honours in the 130kg class, with silver going to Egypt’s Shady Wehib and bronze to Nour Bouras of Algeria.

In the junior women’s wrestling, Egypt’s Nada Mohamed won the 50kg gold with silver going to Debora Ture of Guinea-Bissau and bronze going to Tunisia’s Chaima Raoafi.

Morocco earned gold in the 53kg class through Zineb Chabki, with silver going to Egypt’s Faten Ahmed and bronze to Nour Raouafi of Tunisia.

Tunisia’s Lobna Ichaoui won the 55kg category ahead of home wrestler Achouak Tekouk and Morocco’s Atika El Asla.

Zineb Hassoune of Morocco took the 57kg title with silver going to Algeria’s Amel Bahloul and bronze to Tunisia’s Ikram Ben Hammouda.

Egypt won the 59kg class through Fatma Elkeliny, with second place going to Tunisia’s Takwa Abdessalem and third place to Chahineze Ghomari of Algeria.

The 62kg class gold went to Tunisia’s Hiba El Hammouda, with silver being won by Thelleli Merzouk of Algeria and bronze by Morocco’s Wissal El Gnaoui.

The 65kg category also went to Tunisia, for whom Khadija Jlassi was victorious, ahead of Egypt’s Ayatalla Ahmed and Mastoura Soudani of Algeria.

And Tunisia won the 68kg class through Zaineb Sghaier, with silver going to Donia Abouzied of Egypt and bronze to Dihia Abouz of Algeria.

Nour Jelili maintained Tunisia’s winning run in the 72kg category, with silver going to Egypt’s Menatalla Badran and bronze to Hadil Boughezal of Algeria.

Egypt’s Eman Mohamed won the top women’s weight category of 76kg, with silver going to Zohra Zebdi of Algeria and bronze to Samar Klai of Tunisia.

Attention is now focusing on the start of the senior competition on Saturday.
