Canada beat Mexico 2-0 to win Group B at the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Football Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship in the United States.

Christine Sinclair and Shelina Zadorsky struck in the first half at H-E-B Park in Edinburg to preserve the Canadians' 100 per cent record.

Both sides had already qualified for the semi-finals but Canada have avoided strong favourites the US in the last four by winning the group.

With the two semi-final winners qualifying for Tokyo 2020, Mexico now face the daunting prospect of taking on the Americans on home soil.

Canada, the bronze medallists at London 2012 and Rio 2016, face a much easier looking task in their last four clash where they will play Costa Rica.

Sinclair fired home her 186th national team goal in the 26th minute and Zadorsky squeezed in a second in first half stoppage time.

After beating Saint Kitts and Nevis 11-0 and Jamaica 9-0 in their two previous games, the Canadians have ended the group phase after scoring 22 times and not conceding.

Jamaica thrashed Saint Kitts and Nevis 7-0 in the group's other match today, a dead rubber between two already eliminated sides.

Their first goal did not arrive until the 38th minute when Khadija Shaw registered.

She would later add a second with Kayla McCoy also bagging a brace.

Tiffany Cameron and Havana Solaun also found the target, while Trudi Carter scored from the penalty spot.

It was the first win at an Olympic qualifying tournament for Jamaica's women.

The semi-finals will now take place on Friday (February 7) at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson.

Reigning World Cup champions the US have won the Olympic gold medal four times.
