Egypt's Nouran Gohar has moved up a place to second in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) women's world rankings.

The 22-year-old player has risen on the leaderboard after winning the Carol Weymuller Open in Brooklyn last month.

She defeated compatriot Nour El Tayeb in straight games in the final.

There is also a new world number three as Camille Serme climbed up two places.

The French player won the Tournament of Champions at New York City's Grand Central Terminal after a final victory over Egypt's reigning world champion Nour El Sherbini.

This was her first major PSA World Tour title in three years and moves her back into the top three for the first time since September.

Both Gohar and Serme beat each other en-route to their respective titles.

Their climb in the rankings means El Sherbini has dropped two places from second to fourth.

El Tayeb has slipped from fourth to fifth.

Egypt's Raneem El Welily remains as the world number one for the 14th month in a row, despite her defeat to Serme at the Tournament of Champions.

New Zealand's Joelle King stays at number six but England's Sarah-Jane Perry has risen to seventh, swapping places with American Amanda Sobhy.

Tesni Evans of Wales is at nine with Egypt's Hania El Hammamy completing the top ten.

Two-time junior world champion Rowan Elaraby has moved up to 20th, the joint-highest ranking the Egyptian has achieved.

England's 15-year-old Torrie Malik and Egyptian Salma El Alfy are the biggest movers in the standings, each climbing 26 spots to 139th and 193rd respectively.
