International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup standings leader Alexis Pinturault is to compete at tomorrow's event in the Swiss village of Adelboden, despite a stomach bug.

The Frenchman currently tops the standings with 475 points, one ahead of Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and four ahead of another Norwegian, Henrik Kristoffersen.

He skipped training to recover from his illness, but will be back tomorrow to take on the Chuenisbärgli giant slalom run.

Action is also scheduled for Sunday with a slalom event, before competition concludes.

Kristoffersen is the leader in both the giant slalom and slalom disciplines.

Home hopes lie with Daniel Yule, who triumphed at the last World Cup contest, earlier this week in the Italian resort of Madonna di Campiglio.

It will be the 64th time the competition takes place in Adelboden, with around 40,000 spectators now attending across the weekend.
