Switzerland's Daniel Yule repeated his triumph from last season to win the men's slalom event at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Skiing World Cup in Italian resort Madonna di Campiglio.

Yule, whose win in Madonna di Campiglio in December 2018 was his only previous one on the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup tour, took victory with a two-run time of 1min 35.60sec on the Canalone Miramonti course.

He led the way after the first run, in 47.56sec, and then posted the seventh best time of 48.04 in the second to seal victory.

Norway's Henrik Kristoffersen was 0.15 seconds behind in second place, while in-form Frenchman Clément Noël was a further 0.1 seconds back in third spot.

"Yeah I’d love to have one ;a World Cup] here every day," Yule was reported as saying by Eurosport.

"The snow is amazing, the hill is always perfect, the food is good, the fans are amazing and it’s a night race so it’s just perfect for me."
