Middle-distance runner Ilnaz Minigaleyev has become the latest Russian athlete to be banned, it has been announced.

Minigaleyev, whose personal bests include modest performances of 3min 53.10sec for 1500 metres and 14:45.14 for 5,000m, has been suspended for four-years following a recommendation from the Russian Anti-Doping Agency, the country's official state news agency TASS reported.

The Russian Athletics Federation report that Minigaleyev had been banned because he was found guilty of breaching Provision 2.3 of the All-Russia Anti-Doping Rules.

That means that the 24-year-old either refused to provide a doping sample or missed three-out-of-competition tests.

Minigaleyev's best performance was finishing fourth in the 1500m at the Russian Under-23 Indoor Championships in Saint Petersburg in February 2017.
