"This began as an Ultimate player, then coach, and was followed swiftly as an event organiser, which has led me to be involved at the highest level in the organisation of world class Ultimate tournaments.

"And now there is an opportunity to bring the experience of my professional career over the last 11 years to help improve the sport I love, for which I am very grateful."

WFDF President Robert Rauch stated: “The appointment of Luke, which was endorsed by the Board of Directors unanimously, will formalise the position that has been handled on a volunteer basis up until now.

"We have many projects on our priority list and are hoping to enhance our delivery capabilities through the use of technology in the coming year.

"We also want to greatly thank Andre Kruse for all his selfless contributions on a volunteer basis over the last nine years."
