France’s Sophie Dodemont and The Netherlands’ Mike Schloesser won compound titles at the World Archery Indoor World Series in Luxembourg.

Dodemont faced a tough route to victory at the Guillaume Tell Strassen Archery Club, with the Frenchman facing the top two seeds.

She earned a narrow 147-146 win against second see Ella Gibson of Britain, who had achieved a qualification world record two days ago.

The reward was a meeting with Janine Meissner in the gold medal contest, with the German having beaten Slovenia’s Toja Ellison 148-146 in her last for match.

Meissner, who matched Gibson’s world record to earn top seeding, narrowly missed out on topping the podium.

She tied with Dodemont on a score of 148, but Dodemont edged the tie-breaker 10-9.

Gibson won the bronze medal on a tie-break against Ellison, after both achieved scores of 146.

Schloesser won the men’s competition, having had to settle for second place at the opening World Archery Indoor World Series event in Macau.

The Dutch archer earned a 150-148 win over Croatia’s Mario Vavro in the compound final.

Denmark’s Stephan Hansen completed the podium, courtesy of a 148-146 win over United States’ Tate Morgan.

Canada’s Crispin Duenas topped the men’s recurve standings, after he won 6-2 in the gold medal match against The Netherlands’ Willem Bakker.

Florian Kahllund won the bronze medal after the German beat France’s Quentin Soule 7-3.

South Korean domination of the women’s event continued with Chen Hye-jin beating her team-mate Kim Young Kyeong 6-4 in the final.

America's Casey Kaufhold completed the podium by beating Germany’s Veronika Haidn Tschalova 6-2.

The next World Archery Indoor World Series event is due to take place in Rome between December 13 and 15.

That is due to be followed next year by events in Sydney, Nimes and Las Vegas.
