Qualification rounds have begun at the 2019 Asian Archery Championships in Bangkok, with three quota places for next year's Tokyo Olympic Games up for grabs.

The men's and women's recurve competition started today at the Thai capital's Rajamangala National Stadium.

Korea's Kim Woo-jin is on top in men's recurve qualifying, with a score of 685.

Su Yu-Yang of Chinese Taipei is in joint-second on 678 alongside Korea's Lee Woo-seok.

In the men's recurve team events, Korea are well clear on 2,035, with the Indian shooters competing under a neutral flag in second on 2,014, and Chinese Taipei further back on 1,998.

It's the exact same pattern in the recurve mixed team, with Korea on top with 1,363, while the neutral flag shooters are level on points with Chinese Taipei on 1,332.

In the women's competition, Korea are totally dominant, although it's tight at the top.

Kang Chae-young, Choi Mi-sun and An San sit on the same score of 678, with fellow Korean Lee Eun-gyeong one point behind in fourth.

Unsurprisingly, Korea dominated the recurve women's team discipline on 111.

China sit in second, well back on 1,978, with Japan third on 1,948.

Korea are also in dominant form in the recurve mixed team, scoring 1,363 today.

The neutral athletes and Chinese Taipei are joint-second on 1,332.

Tomorrow sees the compound discipline take centre-stage with recurve first round matches also scheduled.

The event, running until November 28, is the penultimate opportunity for Asia's archers to make the cut for Tokyo 2020.
