Top seed Mohamed ElShorbagy cruised into the third round of the Professional Squash Association Men's World Championship with victory over England's Adrian Waller in Doha.

ElShorbagy, seeking a second world title, swept aside Waller 13-11, 11-9, 11-9 to reach the last 16 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.

The 28-year-old, who has reached three finals so far this season but sat out the recent Egyptian Open, will face 10th seed Saurav Ghosal of India for a place in the last eight.

Ghosal defeated Frenchman Lucas Serme 11-8, 11-5, 11-5 and will hope to cause an upset when he takes on ElShorbagy.

New Zealand's Paul Coll, seeded fourth, is also through after he overcame Borja Golan of Spain in straight games.

Coll won 11-7, 11-4, 11-8 to set up a meeting with 12th seed Omar Mosaad, who beat Qatar's Syed Azlan Amjad 11-5, 11-2, 11-6.

"I feel very happy," the New Zealander said.

"He came out like a cut-snake in that first game, he was very attacking and playing at a high intensity and it caught me off guard a little bit.

"I was a bit unsettled in those early rallies.

"It has been a good tournament so far but I have got eyes on much further down the line.

"I am just taking it match-by-match and not getting caught up in it.

"I am really happy today but I am also looking ahead to my next match."

The tournament continues tomorrow.
