The United Arab Emirates overcame Bosnia and Herzegovina to earn their first win of the Olympic ice hockey pre-qualification round one event in Luxembourg.

The UAE bounced back from their defeat to Kyrgyzstan yesterday with a 6-3 victory at the Kockelscheuer Ice Rink.

A strong first period saw the UAE take a 3-1 advantage, which they extended in the second to 5-2.

The final period of the match saw both sides trade goals as the UAE closed out a comfortable win.

Kyrgyzstan overcame Luxembourg 5-3 in the second match of the day.

The result saw them move onto six points, effectively securing first place.

Achieving this would book a place in the second round of qualification for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

Another pre-qualification round one event will conclude tomorrow at Sanya in China.

Chinese Taipei look set to earn the place in the next round after winning their first two matches.

Victory over Hong Kong would seal their place in the next round.

Hong Kong and Thailand will still hope to clinch top spot with victories, with the latter meeting already eliminated Kuwait.
