Diego Duarte scored an 86th-minute winner as Paraguay stormed back from 2-0 down to defeat Argentina and reach the FIFA Under-17 World Cup quarter-finals in Brazil.

Exequiel Zeballos and Matias Godoy had given Argentina a 2-0 lead before the break but a stunning comeback saw their South American rivals progress at Estádio Kléber Andrade in Vitoria.

The fightback began in the 58th minute when substitute Matias Segovia forced Lautaro Cano to poke the ball into his own net.

Paraguay were level with 17 minutes to go when Diego Torres turned and fired beyond Argentine goalkeeper Rocco Rios from the edge of the box.

A tense affair was flipped on its head as Duarte settled the contest, chasing down a ball over the top and putting the Paraguayans ahead for the first time with just four minutes to play.

Paraguay are next scheduled to take on The Netherlands in the last eight on Sunday (November 10).
