Russia's Anton Vorobyev and France's Severine Eraud claimed the respective men's and women's individual time trial cycling titles as medal action began at the World Military Games in Chinese city Wuhan.
Vorobyev triumphed in a time of 38 min 32.645sec, finishing ahead of Austria's Patrick Gamper and France's Jérémy Cabot at the East Lake Greenway Road Cycling Venue
It came after Eraud had prevailed in 21:23.278, with fellow Frenchwoman Juliette Labous second and home rider Liang Hongyu third.
Among the other sports in which medals were won today was aeronautical pentathlon.
China's Liao Weihua came out on top in the flying contest with 3,500 points.
He was followed in the standings by Brazil's Frederico Brito, with 3,250 points, and Finland's Mikko Honkasalo, with 2,820.
There was also success for China in the men's 25 metres rapid fire pistol event after Yao Zhaonan, Jin Yongde and Xie Zhenxiang scored a total of 1,747 points.
Russia's Anton Guryanov, Aleksei Klimov and Leonid Ekimov were the runners-up with 1,743 points, while North Korea's Han Wi Chol, Kim Hyon Ung and Ryu Kum Il came third with 1,742.

In swimming, China secured six gold medals today.
There were wins for Wang Jianjiahe in the women's 400m freestyle in 4:04.42, Li Guangyuan in the men's 100m backstroke in 54.50, Zhu Menghui in the women's 50m freestyle in 24.81 and Liu Yaxin in the women's 200m backstroke in 2:09.92.
Further victories went the host nation's way in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay in 7:13.35 and women's 4x100m medley relay in 4:00.16.
Also tasting victory in the pool were Russia's Anton Chupkov and France's Fantine Lesaffre.
Chupkov topped the men's 100m breaststroke podium in 59.17, while Lesaffre led the way in the men's 400m medley in 4:37.91.
In fencing, Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medallist Timur Safin of Russia beat Maxime Pauty 15-9 in the men's individual foil final and China's Sun Yiwen defeated Romania's Ana Maria Popescu 11-10 in the women's individual épée final.
Action in Wuhan is due to continue tomorrow.
Competition is scheduled to run through to October 27.
