China and hosts Thailand were assured of progressing to the semi-finals from Group A after winning their opening two matches.

Defending champions China finished with a flawless group stage record at the Pattaya Youth Center.

They edged a close match against Thailand 2-0 to qualify in first place, with no goals conceded in their three matches to date.

India and South Korea played out a goalless draw in their final Group A match.

The tight matches continued, with Iran and Japan clashing to determine the Group B winners.

Paralympic silver medallists Iran secured a narrow 1-0 win.

The results mean Iran will face Thailand in their semi-final, while China meet Japan in the last four.

Teams enjoy a rest day tomorrow, with the semi-finals and a seventh-place playoff being held on Saturday (October 5).

The final will be held the following day.

The semi-finals matches will be key at the International Blind Sports Federation tournament.

As well as the chance to play for the continental title, the two finalists will book their place at next year's Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

Japan have already qualified for Tokyo 2020 as host nation, so the third-placed side will reach the Paralympics if they get to the final.
