British Athletics have named 11 reigning world champions among their 43-strong squad for the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai.

Among the gold medallists from London 2017 included in the team include 10-time world champion Hannah Cockroft, and two-time Paralympic gold-medallists Aled Davies, Jonnie Peacock and Richard Whitehead.

Cockroft competes in the T34 100 metres and 800m, Davies in the F63 shot put, Peacock in the T64 100m and the universal 4x100m relay, and Whitehead in the T61 200m.

Champions from London two years ago also returning are female athletes Hollie Arnold, Sophie Hahn, Olivia Breen, Kadeena Cox, Sophie Kamlish, Sammi Kinghorn and Stef Reid.

Arnold competes in the F46 javelin, Hahn in the T38 100m, 200m and universal 4x100m, Breen in both the T38 long jump and 100m, Cox in the T38 200m and 400m, Kamlish in the T64 100m, Kinghorn in the T53 100m as well as the relay along with Hahn, while Reid will go in the T64 long jump.

A notable name in the squad is Libby Clegg, who takes part at her first major event since 2016.

Double Paralympic champion Clegg has taken time out from competition to start a family, but returns in the T11 200m as she launches her campaign to qualify for the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

There are also four winners from the recent European Championships in Berlin taking part - Thomas Young in the T38 100m, Sabrina Fortune in the women’s F20 shot put, Harri Jenkins races in the men’s T33 100m, while Vanessa Wallace aims for gold in the women’s F34 shot put.

"I am delighted to be able to select a team of 43 for the World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai," said British Athletics’ Para Athletics head coach Paula Dunn.

"The event is a key competition in the cycle as well the final opportunity to take on the best in the world at a global championship before Tokyo, and I’m really excited to see how this team performs in two months’ time.

"We enjoyed our best ever World Championships at the biggest edition of the event in London two years ago, but we are not complacent.

"Para Athletics is ever evolving and athletes from all countries have continued to improve since then.

"I expect our team to step-up and show their ability on the international stage.”

The Championships take place in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates between November 7 and 15.
