Pieter Devos of Belgium and Ben Maher of Britain are set to compete for the Global Champions Tour title tomorrow in New York City.

Only one point separates the duo in the standings, with Devos taking the lead on 278 points after triumphing in Saint-Tropez last week.

Although defending champion Maher is one point behind on 277, he is in a stronger position to win with only nine scores counting in each rider's tally in the event on the scenic Governors Island.

If Maher finishes fifth or higher, he will take his second successive title.

If Devos achieves fifth or higher, then Maher must finish in 14th or higher or lose his title.

Germany's Daniel Deusser is currently third in the standings on 259 and has an outside chance of triumphing overall.

The winner will earn €300,000 (£267,000/$328,000) in prize money.

The Global Champions League team event is also set to reach its conclusion, with four teams considered to be in contention for the title.

St Tropez Pirates currently lead with 304 points, closely followed by the Shanghai Swans on 302.

Six points behind are the defending champion London Knights, while Madrid in Motion are another 6 points away on 290.

Devos features in St Tropez Pirates, while Maher competes for London Knights.

All 16 teams are also fighting for a place in the Prague Playoffs Global Champions League Super Cup, with the top four ranked teams fast tracked to the semi-finals.
