Amy Wang and Lily Zhang are guaranteed their second medals of the International Table Tennis Federation Pan American Championships after setting up an all-American mixed doubles final in Paraguay.

The duo, who combined to win team gold yesterday, will be on opposite sides of the table in tomorrow's final in Asunción.

Wang teamed up with Nikhil Kumar to win their semi-final against Daniel Gonzalez and Melanie Diaz of Puerto Rico.

The Puerto Ricans won the opening game before Wang and Kumar fought back to record an 8-11, 11-8, 11-9, 12-10 victory.

Zhang joined Kai Zhang to defeat Argentinian pair Horacio Cifuentes and Camila Arguelles 14-12, 11-7, 12-10 to reach the final.

In the women's singles, Zhang booked her place in the last 16 with a comfortable 11-5, 11-2, 11-6, 12-10 win against Mexican Clio Barcenas.

Brazilian Bruna Takahashi eased to an 11-5, 11-5, 11-5, 11-8 victory over Melina Hermosilla of Paraguay, while compatriot Jessica Yamada triumphed 11-7, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6 in her clash with Hermosilla's compatriot Cielo Mutti.

In the men's round of 32, American top seed Kanak Jha accounted for Santiago Lorenzo of Argentina 11-7, 11-9, 11-6, 7-11, 11-6. 

Brazilian second seed Gustavo Tsuboi won 11-4, 11-3, 11-5, 11-8 against Diego Piguave of Ecuador.

The men's and women's singles competitions continue tomorrow with the last 16 and quarter-final matches.
