Chinese Taipei and the United States are tied for top spot at the Under-18 Baseball World Cup following the second super round fixtures in South Korea.

The team from Chinese Taipei outclassed Australia 12-0 in the World Baseball Softball Confederation tournament at Gijang-Hyundai Dream Ballpark.

Chinese Taipei made inroads early on and continued to dominate the contest before wrapping up victory.

The US also sit on a three win and one loss record - the results against other super round teams carried over from the opening phase - after they beat Canada.

The defending champions, seeking a record fifth straight Under-18 Baseball World Cup title, thrashed Canada 10-0.

In the other super round match, Japan, who ended the American team's winning streak in the group stage, were on the losing side of a thrilling contest with the host nation.

South Korea reversed a a two-run lead in the bottom of the tenth and the winning run was eventually awarded following an on-field replay review.

The super round continues tomorrow as the US take on South Korea, Chinese Taipei face Canada and Australia entertain Japan.

The top two at the end of the super round will contest the final on Sunday (September 8).
