Serbia have continued their title defence of the Women's European Volleyball Championship with a win against Bulgaria in Ankara.

They had to come back from one set down to secure their second successive victory of the tournament, triumphing 16-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 at Ankara Arena. 

Greece won the remaining Pool A match, beating Finland 26-24, 15-25, 25-21, 27-25. 

Slovenia defeated Portugal 25-21, 25-20, 25-9 in Pool B at Łódź's Atlas Arena, before Italy overcame Ukraine 25-16, 25-18, 25-10.

The Netherlands managed their second win of the competition in Pool C, getting past Azerbaijan 25-15, 25-23, 25-23 at Budapest Sports Arena.

Romania then battled against Estonia, eventually winning 25-23, 30-32, 25-19, 25-21. 

Two fixtures in Pool D took place at Ondrej Nepela Arena in Bratislava. 

Spain recorded a 25-22, 25-22, 15-25, 25-17 victory against Belarus, while Russia beat Switzerland 28-26, 25-19, 25-9. 

Pool action will continue tomorrow.
