The Chinese clocked 1min 47.823sec to claim victory in Pattaya.

In doing so they broke the previous world record which was set by the United States in 2007 in Penrith in Australia.

Hosts Thailand finished second today, clocking 1:48.746.

The US came home in third with a time of 1:51.109.
