Alexander Koshelev has been appointed anti-doping specialist at the Bobsleigh Federation of Russia (RBF).

He will be the main point of contact with the World Anti-Doping Agency and the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).

Koshelev will also be tasked with overseeing the implementation of educational anti-doping programmes developed by the Russian Sports Ministry.

The appointment comes under a cooperation agreement the RBF signed with RUSADA in February.

"We are confident that the introduction of an anti-doping support specialist position will help our athletes and trainers to properly navigate all anti-doping rules," the RBF said.

RUSADA director general Yury Ganus said the agreement with the RBF would bring the organisation's anti-doping work "back to normality".

Bobsleigh was found to have been one of the sports at the heart of the Russian doping scandal which corrupted the 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi.

Bobsledders Alexander Zubkov, Alexander Kasjanov, Aleksei Pushkarev, Ilvir Khuzin and Alexei Voevoda have all been banned for their roles in the doping scheme in operation at the Games in the Russian city.

Zubkov, stripped of the Olympic gold medals he won in the two- and four-man events at Sochi 2014, stood down as RBF President after he was suspended for two years by the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation.

He was replaced by RBF vice-president Elena Anikina, who led Sochi's successful bid for the 2014 Winter Olympics, in March.

Zubkov has still not returned his medals to the International Olympic Committee.
