World number one-ranked Indians Pramod Bhagat and Parul Dalsukhbhai Parmar completed perfect records in their group matches to advance to the knockout stage of the Para Badminton World Championships in Basel.
Defending champion Parmar beat Poland’s Katarzyna Ziebik 21-13, 21-7 to make it three wins out of three in Group A of the women's singles SL3 event at the St. Jakobshalle.
Bhagat finished top of Group A in the men’s singles SL3 competition with a 26-24, 21-17 win over Thailand's Mongkhon Bunsun.
Compatriot Manoj Sarkar secured first place in Group C of the same event with a walkover victory at the expense of Nigeria's Sunday Eze Chukwuebuka.
"It was an easy day for India," India coach Gaurav Khanna said.
"All my players have started well and hopefully we will reach our targets.
"The matches will get tougher from here on, but we will aim to execute our plans and try to achieve what we expected."
England's Jack Shephard and Krysten Coombs remain on course to meet in the final of the men's singles SS6 event.
Second seed Coombs beat Ireland’s Niall McVeigh 21-13, 21-10 to top Group B after two previous victories this week.
Reigning world champion Shephard, the top seed, won Group A.
He did not play today, with opponent Anthony Ojwang Otwal of Kenya withdrawing from the competition.
Coombs will face South Korea's Lee Dae Sung in the last 16.
Standing between Shephard and a place in the quarter-finals is Thailand's Yaemmali Bunthan.
Tomorrow will see the knockout stage, following the conclusion of the group matches.
The semi-finals are scheduled for Saturday (August 24), before the finals take centre stage on Sunday (August 25).
