Italy's Niccolo Nordera and Switzerland's Anja Von Allmen clinched the boys' and girls' titles on the penultimate day of the International Laser Class Association Laser 4.7 Youth World Championships in Kingston.

In the boys' gold fleet, Nordera earned a race win between fourth- and fifth-place finishes at the Canadian city's Portsmouth Olympic Harbour.

It moves him onto 27 points and gives him an unassailable lead of 19 over second-placed Roko Stipanovic of Croatia.

Slovenia's Gasper Strahovnik is third with 57 points.

Allmen, meanwhile, had her best day in the girls' fleet, winning the first race of the day and then securing two runners-up finishes.

Her exceptional performance capped off a remarkable week, during which her lowest finish has been 12th.

She has 37 points to her name with Spain's Lara Himmes second on 60 and Italy's Sara Savelli third on 75.

Action in Kingston is due to conclude tomorrow.
