The logo of the 2019 World Sambo Championships in South Korea's capital Seoul has been unveiled.

The International Sambo Federation said the logo is made in the style of South Korea's national flag "Taegukgi" and represents a battle of two sambists, captured from the top.

It features the inscription "Seoul 2019 World Sambo Championships".

The event, which is due to take place from November 8 to 10, will see sambists fight for medals in 27 weight categories.

Those are made up of nine for men, nine for women and nine for combat sambo.

Russia comfortably finished top of the medal table with 15 golds.

Sambo is a martial art and combat sport developed and used by the Soviet Red Army in the early 1920s to improve their hand-to-hand combat abilities.
