Noah Adler will lead home hopes as part of a 36-strong Canadian contingent which will compete at the International Laser Class Association Laser 4.7 Youth World Championships in Kingston.
The boys' division sees 24 home sailors compete, with 12 girls battling for the title at the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour.
Three days of qualification races will get underway in Canada tomorrow with two races in both the boys' and girls' divisions.
America's Erik Hou warmed up for the Championships with victory in the laser 4.7 class at the 2019 Sail Canada Youth Championships earlier this week and will target a second triumph on the Kingston waters when the medals are handed out on Friday (August 23).
Adler will bid to turn the tables on Hou after placing second, while Germany's Batbold Grunner was third in that battle and also completes in Kingston, where he will seek another podium finish.
The finals races will begin on Wednesday (August 21).
The Championships conclude on Friday.
