Russia took their total of gold medals to five in the last three days at the European Diving Championships after earning both available for the second successive day of competition in Kyiv.

Kuznetsov won the individual men's 3m springboard yesterday in Kyiv, while Shleikher partnered with Aleksandr Belevtsev to take victory in the synchronised platform discipline.

They combined to impressive effect today with a toal of 435.69 points - just over 37 points more than second place.

Germany's Patrick Hausding and Lars Ruediger claimed silver medal with a score of 398.64 points with the bronze going to Britain's Anthony Harding and Jordan Houlden on 387.60.

For Hausding, it is a fourth medal from Ukraine - he claimed gold in the 1m springboard on Wednesday (August 7), adding to his win in the mixed team event on Monday (August 6), and took silver in the individual 3m, again beaten by Kuznetsov.

Later, Vitaliia Koroleva won the fifth Russian gold medal from the last six events as she triumphed in the women's 1m springboard.

The 18-year-old won her first senior gold with a score of 266.70 points in a tightly contested event.

Ukraine's Olena Fedorova took the silver with 263.45 points - her 12th European Championships medal without winning gold.

Another Russian, Kristina Ilinykh, was just 0.4 points back in third place.

Competition in Ukraine's capital is due to conclude tomorrow with the women's 3m synchronised before the men's platform final brings the Championships to a close.
