Iran increased their gold medal tally to five after two more of their athletes triumphed at the World Cadet Taekwondo Championships in Tashkent.

Sanaz Abbaspour Fazlabad claimed a stoppage win over Kazakhstan's Aisha Adilbekkyzy when leading the women's under-44 kilograms final 25-2 at Universal Sports Palace in Uzbekistan’s capital.

Pouneh Jafar Salehi then beat South Korea's Kim Jiyeon 21-1 in the women’s under-55kg gold medal match.

The women’s under-44kg bronze medallists were Belgium's Sarah Chaari and Spain's Elsa Hernandez Vazquez.

Rounding out the women’s under-55kg podium were Vitaliya Lazuta of Belarus and Chinese Taipei's Yao Pei-Yu.

There was also disappointment for Iran today, however, with Amirhossein Norouzi and Setayesh Ghahremani Mahid suffering losses in the finals of the men's under-41kg and women's under-59kg categories, respectively.

Norouzi lost 31-11 against Uzbekistan's Zafarbek Karimov, while Ghahremani Mahid fell to a 14-13 defeat at the hands of American Ava Lee.

Chinese Taipei's Chan Tzu-I and Haiti's Ryan Martine secured the men's under-41kg bronze medals. 

The women's under-59kg bronze medals went to Russia's Daria Kulakovskaia and Spain's Neus Valbuena Sánchez.

Completing today’s list of gold medallists was Russia's Sviatoslav Garbuz after he overcame Serbia's Zarko Krajisnik in the men’s under-45kg final.

Mexico's Eduardo Malo Gutierrez and Palestine's Omar Yaser Ismail earned the bronze medals in the division.
